La Ruche (French for beehive)

8 April 2009

Just as a beehive provides an elaborate structure where bees collaborate to raise their young, La Ruche is an ecological collective workspace which houses great ideas and the strategic actors needed to make them happen.

Located in Paris, in the 10ème arrondissement (that’s my hood!), the space welcomed social entrepreneurs on May 1st 2008. But that’s not all, the 1400 sq meters beehive also hosts events dedicated to social innovation (photo exhibits, etc), as well as a fairtrade café-bistrot for social bees to meet, collaborate, create and innovate.

Today, 18 bees occupy the beehive, including  Ashoka, Eurosif, Entrepreneurs Sans Frontières and Mozaik.
